My One Square Mile Photo Novella

My One Square Mile Project is about social responsibility. It is about adopting a project for the benefit of those in need and documenting the project in a Photo Novella. This is storytelling at its best because it speaks to all languages without misunderstanding.

Social responsibility is understood to mean that the individual members of society work together to fulfill the general needs of society as well as the individual needs of its members and that they work together to protect society from harm. Each member of society is aware not only that he has rights, but also that that he has responsibilities towards others, especially those who are incapable of fulfilling their own needs. These responsibilities entail providing for the needs of these people as well as protecting them from harm.

Where does my reponsibility start and end?

The One Mile Square Mile Project has no boundaries. You may want to begin a project in your own community or you may want to reach out to a community in another country. You may want to get involved in our projects. Whatever your involvement, an important component is to bring about awareness to the masses. This is done with a Photo Novella.

In order to sustain the projects we undertake we need to continue to educate others. For instance, by viewing the progress of Jai Dee Children's Fund projects, you may be inspired to help us or you may be inspired to begin your own project. The important part is that you are inspired to make a difference.

Once we prepare our photo novella, then what?

Our photo novella will be shown in art galleries and other public places around the world. . It then becomes an educational tool that hopefully can bring about change. The Novella can also be used as a tool to lobby governments for social change.

Photo Novellas can also become an anthropological means to document our story for history/herstory.
